Kerri and Travis: Married
Every wedding is important to every couple, and it means so much to me to be able to document each and every one of them, but there is something extra special about being asked to photograph a wedding for a couple in uniform. Maybe it’s just super personal to me, but I know first-hand how much these images will mean to my couples who can be separated for months at a time, oceans apart from each other, so I find it to be such a huge honor to provide those photographs.
I actually met Kerri and Travis because of the year Daniel and I spent apart while Daniel was in Japan (our first year of marriage). Travis and Daniel had gone through their USMC training together and then happened to end up in Okinawa at the same time, and when he and Kerri coincidentally ended up living close by after he got back to the states it worked out that I finally got to meet them!
Naturally, when Kerri told me they were planning their wedding for this December I was elated to put it on my calendar, and even more excited to be able to photograph it. So on December 23rd Kerri and Travis got married in a beautiful, intimate ceremony at the Hotel Hershey, followed by cake (the best cake I have ever tasted), champagne, and a spectacularly massive brunch at the Eden Resort in Lancaster.
Also, I was pretty much blown away by the details Kerri had artfully pulled together so last minute. Her BHLDN gown was amazing, especially under her full-length fur cape, and looked spectacular next to Travis in his USMC blues. Everything down to the cake and matching champagne flutes was beautifully curated to compliment the occasion.
Oh, and lest we forget, we have to talk about the pictures with Santa and Mrs. Clause. A Christmas wedding would never be complete without pictures and some sage advice from Santa. The guy knows a thing or two about marriage! lol!
Enjoy time traveling back to December with these festive photos from this great wedding!
